When I first started to work for the Murthy's Law Firm in 2020, I thought I would be making quite a career out of my business. After a few months working hard in the office and going to school, I decided that I could do it all and then I could quit.
At the law firm, I was given the opportunity to take a test to find out what my favorite career options were and then if I wanted to take a test to get a job as a paralegal. The paralegal program taught me many things about the law that made me better at the job and more attractive to a potential employer. But the most important thing for me was having fun.
My favorite part about working for the Murthy's Law Firm was that I had a boss who actually gave me tips on how to do my job so that I could earn money from it. This made me feel good and I was excited to work hard at my job.
During the summer, there was one job that I had a lot of trouble with and that was a landscaping job. It wasn't that the job wasn't right for me because it was and the employer was just not paying much. But, as the summer went by, I kept on losing interest in the landscaping job because I knew it would end up paying for me to go back to school.
One of the things that I did to keep myself interested in my summer jobs was to volunteer at the office. I did this because I was interested in how the law affected people's lives. It helped me learn how to relate to others better and how to deal with clients better. So, when I got to work, I felt like I was helping others.
In fact, even though I was doing well in my landscaping job, I did think about getting a job at Murthy's Law Firm. But, I knew that I had plenty of other things that I needed to finish. So, I did not approach my boss or the boss of anyone else who had worked there to tell them that I wanted a job there.
My dream was not to . . . . . . work for the Murthy's Law Firm but rather to work for a different company. So, I did not approach my boss or anyone else there about getting a job with them. But, I did tell one of my friends who works for the firm that I was looking for a new job.
The friend that I told about my new job found a job for me at Murthy's Law Firm the next day. And, she didn't even know me. She called me and said, “I just learned about your new job.” and I said “Thank you.”
